The Padres have dealt Jake Peavy to the White Sox for the second time this year and this time, he has approved the trade. Aaron Poreda, Adam Russell, Dexter Carter and Clayton Richard are believed to be on their way to San Diego.

The Marlins have acquired first baseman Nick Johnson for the Nationals for Class AA left-hander Aaron Thompson, according to a major-league source. The Nationals will pay the approximately $1.8 million remaining on Johnson's salary. Johnson is a free agent at the end of the season.

The Rockies have landed reliever Joe Beimel from the Nationals for two minor leagues, sources told Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman.

Peter Gammons of ESPN is reporting that pitcher Justin Masterson will be a part of the trade between the Red Sox and Indians involving catcher Victor Martinez. Young left-hander Nick Hagadone is expected to be included in the deal as well, but the final terms are still being hammered out by Boston and Cleveland.

Cleveland has agreed to trade C/1B Victor Martinez to the Red Sox, SI.com has learned. The deal is believed to include right-hander Justin Masterson. MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo reports that another player involved is lefty prospect Nick Hagadone. And SI.com's Tom Verducci says minor league right-hander Bryan Price could also be headed to Cleveland. Clay Buchholz is not included in the deal, SI.com has learned. Hard-throwing reliever Daniel Bard won't be involved either, as Cleveland only wants starters.

The Marlins have ended their pursuit of Nationals first baseman Nick Johnson. Florida has also stopped calling San Diego about closer Heath Bell and is unlikely to make any deals prior to the deadline, according to major league sources.

The Dodgers are reportedly making a late run at Padres first baseman Adrian Gonzalez and reliever Heath Bell. Major league sources claim that the Dodgers could acquire the players in separate deals or a multi-player blockbuster. It is believed that Los Angeles would include first baseman James Loney in a deal with San Diego if Gonzalez is involved.

The Red Sox and Indians have agreed to a deal to send Victor Martinez to Boston, sources have confirmed to SI. The trade, according to ESPN's Peter Gammons, involves the Red Sox sending a number of prospects to the Indians for Martinez. Boston isn't giving up Clay Buchholz or Daniel Bard in the deal, according to sources. Justin Masterson and Nick Hagadone are believed to be included.

When the Yankees called the Mariners about Jarrod Washburn they asked for either outfielder Austin Jackson or catcher Miguel Montero. Jackson and Montero are considered New York's two best position-player prospects. The Yankees made a counteroffer consisting of lesser prospects, and the Mariners moved on and dealt Washburn to the Tigers on Friday morning.

The Diamondbacks aren't willing to trade Dan Haren, but pitchers Doug Davis and Jon Garland are very much on the market. A major league source told FOX Sports that Arizona has received minimal interest in Davis and Garland, and described talks as "remarkably quiet." Both pitchers could be options for teams in August as they figure to clear waivers.
